Erbil: On 28/9/2016, Dr.Dara Jalil Khayat the President of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed Ms. Damla Dikan the director of Atlas Global airways in Erbil and her accompanying delegation. 

In a meeting , Mr. Sadradin Kamal the member of board of directors of the Chamber was  presented in the both sides signed an agreement . According to this agreement the

Chamber members that they have the identities of the Chamber  enjoy a 20% discount when traveling with this  airline.

Erbil : On  09.21.2016 ,Dr. Dara Jalil Khayat the President of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry  received  in his office a delegation from the US embassy in Baghdad, headed by the Minister Larry Mimut in charge of economic affairs at the embassy with a number  of accompanying members .

The  meeting was attended by a number of members of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, the aim of this visit was to inform the Chamber that the embassy is serious to continue shuttle visits to the Kurdistan region every three months throughout the term of the officials operation which is for two year ,and at the meeting pointed out the economic and political situation declining in the region and the causes  which are the global  falling of oil prices in addition to the  concerns over the existence Daesh on the outskirts of Kurdistan.

The Minister  stressed that the United States in cooperation with Peshmarga forces will be able to terminate terrorism soon, also pointed to the role of chambers of commerce in the activation of commercial movement through its support to the private sector and the guest also said they  will  support and advance the economic and trade  movement  in the region ahead in order to find alternatives to oil revenues. 

For his part, President of the Chamber welcomed the guest delegation, stressing that commercial movement  is not Going forward  only through the activation and support for private sector activity, because the state was believed that oil prices remain at their level, but the equation has changed, so the return to move the private sector and especially in the vital sectors such agriculture, industry and tourism.

Lastly, Mr. President of the Chamber wished that there will  be serious cooperation among the officials in the field of economic affairs at the embassy and economic institutions in  Kurdistan to achieve new breakthroughs for the economy of Kurdistan.
