Sanandaj... On the second day of the third joint meeting of the border provinces between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, an agreement between them was signed

Today, Wednesday 21/5/2025, in order to strengthen economic and trade relations and enhance commercial activity between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region, the second day of the third joint meeting of the border provinces between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran continued, with the participation of the Kurdistan Region delegation headed by Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil and the governors of (Duhok, Sulaymaniyah, Halabja) and the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Aresh Zare Tani Lahoni, Governor of Iranian Kurdistan and governors of (Kermanshah, West Azerbaijan).
In the meeting, which was attended by Kamaran Salah Bajger, Vice President of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, the Director General of Kurdistan Region-Iran Relations, the heads of the Chambers of Commerce of (Sulaymaniyah, Duhok and Halabja), representatives of the Iranian Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs, and a number of other senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to emphasizing the development, improvement and strengthening of commercial and economic movement, an agreement was signed between all seven provinces to further enhance commercial activities at the border crossings between the two sides and address any shortcomings, problems or difficulties that may exist.
In a joint press conference, both sides described the meeting as important and emphasized strengthening general relations and enhancing trade and economic activity between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region.
