Erbil: On January14, 2018, in the presence of Dr. Dara Jalil Khayat the President of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and a number of the board of directors of the Chamber, 

the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a Seminar on Bitcoin and the electronic currencies for Tawan Tahsin an expert in Finance and investment in Salahaddin University and Kardo Kamal the business reporter. 

In the outset of the Seminar, Dr. Khayat gave a statement about the importance of having knowledge about the electronic currencies for the traders which was to core topic of the seminar.

Then, the panelist Twana Tahsin talked about the topic in detail and said" The bitcoin only exists in the internet network it doesn't like the conventional currency, and not restricted to any country    rule or any kind of instruction, it's a resource of many dangerous and classified dealings." 

He added " the electronic currency has been developed since 1983 in USA , a bitcoin has been developing by a Computer engineer since 2009. There are 1384 kind of electronic currencies to now but the bitcoin has the majority among subscribers. A single bitcoin worthy 13,600 dollars." 

Furthermore, he went on the issue and said " There are subscribers from Kurdistan Region but they are few in number ." 

He emphasized that there are risks in transactions by this kind of currency, like password hack, memory clearing, and the currency is not usable in the markets and bourses." 

And, added that the Iraqi Central Bank has banned this currency.

He disclosed that a number of Kurdish engineers have developed the KurdCoin" and there are transactions going on by this Kurdish made electronic currency . 

Later, Kardo Kamal gave more explanation about the electronic currencies, he described as a new revolution in the world, he asked the people to be very careful in using this currency. 

In the end of the Seminar the attendees and panelists exchanged viewpoints on this issue. 

Erbil: On Jan 9, 2018, On the occasion of the end of his mission in Iraq Mr. Staniwas Simolin the Polish ambassador to Iraq accompanied by Bogoswav Okhdik the Polish Consul in Erbil visited the Chamber and received by Dr. Dara Jalil Khayat the President of The Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a number of board of directors. 

The former Polish Ambassador to Iraq said " during the past 13 years we have established good relations between the both sides, a great pat of those relations is with Kurdistan Region, like the Memorandum between Polish and Kurdistan Chambers, between universities and student associations, the activities and operations by the Polish institutions in the Region and many other kind of friendships and ties all we are proud of them."  

Furthermore, he said" Having the Kurdistan and Polish friendship association made not only the public relations to grow but also the private and personal relations. In the time that our country has a large number of qualified people and expertise could participate in Kurdistan development." 

He gave thanks to the President of Erbil Chamber for being helpful in achieving all those rapprochements. 

Dr. Khayat, thanked the Polish Ambassador for all of his efforts and hoped him success in his new mission. 

Erbil: After they have been closed for 77 days, the Iran authorities opened the border crossing  of Parwez Khan and Hajee Omaran again. 

Dr. Dara Jalil Khayat the President of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, commented on this issue and said" The closure of this border crossing during this period of time 77days made the both side lose millions of dollars while the business and trade were growing throughout these gates in the past." 

" The opening resolution will be beneficial for reinvigoration and the market reactivation." Dr. DaraSaid. 

Mr. Majeed Jalal the member of board of directors of the Chamber said" Soon after the opening decision the movement of the people and vehicles and trucks have been restored in the border. We have asked an Iranian delegation to visit Kurdistan or a delegation from Iran visit Kurdistan Region for reconciliation." 

As the result of this lethargy in the borders crossing both Iran and Kurdistan Region have affected by 2,500 billion $ and and 42 million$ respectively. 

Erbil: On December 27, 2017, in the presence of Omer Khidir a consultant in the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Najeeb Rassam the President assistant of the Polytechnic University in Erbil for Scientific affairs, Dr. Adnan Shihab the director of CDC, certificates have distributed on the participants of the Third course of business leadership.

In a ceremony, held for distributing certificates over the participants, Omer Khider said "We hope to see all the participants soon as business leaders and members of Erbil Chamber."

The leadership course, is a joint project between Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Erbil Polytechnic University, the attendees got the theoretical and practical lessons to be effective planners for business initiatives in the future and be able to develop their ideas to a succesful project plan.
