On Thursday evening, May 8, 2025, at the Radisson Hotel in Erbil, the Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in coordination with the Turkish Consulate General in Erbil and in cooperation with the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held a special ceremony to introduce Van City. The event was attended by Aydin Maruf, Regional Minister for Component Affairs, Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, the Turkish Consul General in Erbil, Kamaran Salah Bajger, Deputy Chairman of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nejdet Tekva, President of the Van Chamber of Commerce, several members of the Chamber's administrative council, and a number of government and party officials and business owners.
During the ceremony, several presentations were made about the culture, history, geography, and tourist attractions of Van City for the guests. The event also highlighted the strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Van City across all sectors in general and the tourism sector in particular.
In their speeches, both the Turkish Consul General in Erbil and the President of the Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their coordination, facilitation, and continuous support.
